INCORRECT OR INCOMPLETE REGISTRATION APPLICATIONS
The penalty fee for any registration application not accepted on the first presentation is $11.00. Allow two weeks for transactions to be enacted. No guarantee can be given of turnarounds under two weeks. If a prompt turnaround is required an additional fee of $55.00 in the form of credit card payment, bank cheque or money order is payable.
BRANDS: All brands must be registered with the Society and with the appropriate State Authority.
Fire or freeze branding is acceptable. All stock bred in Australia must be visibly branded subject to state branding regulations. Either/or a) Breeders registered brand on the near shoulder and the foaling sequence number over the last number of the foaling year on the off shoulder. b) Breeders registered brand over the foaling sequence number over the last number of the foal year on the near shoulder.
A member shall brand the member’s stock only with the member’s registered brand.
Un-branded imported stock may only be branded with the importer’s brand.
All animals must be visibly branded when shown excluding foals whilst on their dams.
PREFIXES
All prefixes must be registered with the Society. No member shall add the member’s prefix to a pony not bred by that member. Registered ponies Prefixes are not permitted to be changed.
DUPLICATE PAPERS
Replacement papers will be issued to the registered owner upon application with a new registration application form and a fee of $33.00 provided the new registration form matched the original. These papers will be stamped DUPLICATE.
Replacement papers will be issued to the new owner as above if there is no objection from the original owner and proof of the new ownership is supplied within 30 days.
CHANGE OF NAME
A change of name is permissible provided that written authority from the breeder is attached to a newly completed registration form. Prefixes are not permitted to be changed. The issuance of new papers is as for a duplicate and a fee of $33.00 is payable.
TRANSFERS
Transfers are the responsibility of the vendor.
All transfers are to be accompanied by a transfer form, completed registration certificate and a fee of $33.00 and forwarded to the National Office irrespective of the purchaser’s membership status.
A transfer by or to a non-financial member or non-member will not be registered. All transfers are to be lodged within 30 days of each change of ownership.
A penalty of $33.00 will be incurred when one or more transfers have not been lodged or if the transfer has not been lodged within 30 days of each change of ownership.
SELLING OF YOUNGSTOCK AS RIDING PONIES
All young stock ponies must be registered by the breeder/vendor and the transfer applied for by the breeder/vendor prior to any transfer being recorded.
TRANSFER OF EXPORTED PONIES
A vendor exporting a riding pony is to send the pony’s papers and a completed Transfer Form to our Registrar along with the appropriate fee. The transfer with be processed to members of the RBSPS Ltd. and non-members will receive a duplicate copy of the papers, marked as exported. The STUD BOOK reference to the pony will also note, “exported”.
TRANSFER OF A STALLION WHEN SEMEN HAS BEEN COLLECTED FOR STORAGE
Notification must be given by the owner of a stallion to an impending purchaser that semen has or will be taken from the stallion for storage.
Both the vendor and the purchaser must notify the National Office in writing of an impending sale where stored semen is involved.
No royalty rights on stored semen will be allowed.
STALLIONS GELDED AND SEMEN COLLECTED
A Section A of Approved Stallion which is registered with the Riding Pony Stud Book Society Ltd. and has semen stored may be gelded and the semen can still be used for breeding purposes. All returns and progeny registrations are as per Regulations.
STALLIONS STANDING AT STUD
All stallions will require a breeding document/return to be lodged with the National Office prior to the end of the stud season. (31st July). Failure to lodge the completed return by this date will incur a penalty of $110.00.
Failure to lodge a return, failure to include a mare on a return or pay the said fine will deem the resultant foal or foals ineligible for registration unless DNA tested.
Parent validation must be undertaken to prove the breeding and all costs are to be born by the stallion owner. It is the responsibility of the stallion owner/agent for all records to be correct.
Breeding documents/returns are available from the National Office for a fee of $11.00.
When a stallion is standing at stud other than the owner’s property then an official lease must be lodged for the said period otherwise the service certificates issued for that period of time will be considered invalid. Leases may be in joint names,
Service certificates must be issued to all visiting mare owners within 90days of full payment of the service fee. Failure to issue certificates will incur a fine of $44.00.
LEASES
All leases are to be accompanied by an official lease form. The registration certificate and a fee of $33.00. Leases may be made in joint names. A penalty of $33.00 will be incurred when the lease has not been lodged within 30 days of the date of the lease and change of ownership.
At no time will the Society enter into disputes. It is recommended that a written agreement be drawn up between the parties concerned.
NOTICE TO STALLION AND MARE OWNERS
The owner of a registered RPSBS Stallion is required to complete a certificate of Service for every mare covered by the stallion, other than those mares owned or leased by the Stallion owner.
Stallion owners must abide by the Society’s regulations and issue a service certificate no later than 90 days after full payment of the service fee.
Mare owners (purchasers of the service) should ask for a receipt for full payment of the service fee from the stallion owner.
It is advised that any deals entered into are correctly documented in writing and a signed copy held by both parties.
The Society will not get involved in deals entered into in exchange for service fees.
The stallion owners should protect both themselves and the mare owners by having service contract stating all the conditions of service drawn up and signed by both parties and a copy kept by both parties to avoid any disputes.
Stallion owners must lodge a Stallion Return annually with the Society. This is a record of all mares covered by a stallion in any one season.
Failure to lodge this return by the following 31st of July will incur a penalty of $110.00.
